EmpowerED: Boys Club (Grades 9 – 12)

NECS Empower Ed program for young boys will focus on empowering young men to reach their full potential through holistic mental health and wellness. We will provide a safe space for young men to come together and learn about issues of concern to boys through social interaction, topic discussions, field trips, and fitness at the Be First Boxing Gym.

This program is in collaboration with A Call To Men and Peekskill’s Be First Boxing. Students will engage with A Call to Men’s Live Respect Healthy & Respectful Manhood curriculum and learn character-building tools. Data show that the curriculum significantly increases young people’s understanding of — and commitment to — gender equity and violence prevention.

Our youth leadership and empowerment programs aim to help young people navigate a crucial life stage. Those in their early adolescent years possess altruism, a sense of justice, an eagerness to learn about the universe, and a desire to contribute to constructing a better world.

This program helps boys form a strong moral identity and empowers them to contribute to their well-being, communities, and the world.
