When children learn about the world, they feel connected and grounded. The best way to teach children is through providing a hands-on experience and creative outlet. In this full-day camp, your children ages 5-9 will learn important kitchen skills and will experience the richness of the cuisines and cultures around the world.
When children learn to cook, they learn how to take care of themselves and others. They love “doing it themselves” like the adults in their lives, and they taste new foods because they made it themselves. They will create art in many new ways, and they will express themselves while learning.
During this exciting 3-day camp, we will focus on creating meals and art from different regions every day, and the kids will learn about new cultures through stories, art and geography. We will cook in the morning from 9 am – 12 pm and we will do art in the afternoon until 3 pm.
Please bring a water bottle for the kids and a snack. We will prepare our own lunches to eat. If your child has any allergies, please communicate this to us right away. We do not use any nuts or nut-based ingredients.
We use natural, seasonal and organic ingredients whenever available, and do not use nut-based products, raw meat or shellfish. We focus on introducing the small chefs to new cuisines, tastes and the cultures representing the recipes they cook. Parents, please make sure that we are aware of any food allergies and texture avoiding issues that your children may have.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sharon NDiaye is the owner/teacher of “Cooking with Kids” and she has taught hundreds of children in our community. She is passionate about multicultural education and cross-cultural understanding and is a self-proclaimed “foodie!” With a background in restaurants, international cultural immersion programs and children’s education, “Cooking with Kids” is a natural combination of Sharon’s passions. Sharon loves hearing from parents whose children have learned more confidence in the kitchen and who have expanded their food options as a result of her class! “Cooking Around the World” classes have helped many children learn important life skills!
