Diasporic Dreams

This weekend “Diasporic Dreams”, an original edutainment experience, brought to you by New Era Creative Space and Peekskill City School District. Friday 7pm and Saturday 7pm with Q&A to follow at the Peekskill Middle School Auditorium. Event is free and open to all, however donations are gratefully accepted.

“Diasporic Dreams” opens with an original ancestral land prayer that acknowledges and honors the Indigenous peoples and Enslaved Africans who once inhabited the land now known as Peekskill and the greater Hudson Valley. Throughout the performance, the audience will be educated and entertained through song, dance, spoken word, and mini-lessons taught by SUNY African Diaspora scholar, Afua Yeboah.
