Stella Filocco

Stella (Guerra) Filocco is a dynamic artist and educator deeply influenced by her Cuban and Colombian heritage. Born in Newark, NJ, and raised on the road, she was immersed in music, arts, and theater from a young age, beginning her dance journey at seven and making her first major performance on Sabado Gigante at just nine years old. Stella pursued her passion for the arts by studying various dance styles while simultaneously holding managerial roles, eventually earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Media, Film, and Radio. Her career blossomed in New York City, where she worked in programming for iHeart Radio, earned an IMDb credit as a Production Assistant for See You Yesterday, and launched an indie singing career, with her music available on all streaming platforms.

Her artistic journey led to collaborations with artists across genres, including IRKO, a Multi-Platinum Award-Winning Audio Engineer, and performances at renowned NYC venues such as Pianos, The Bowery Electric, Carroll Place, and various Brooklyn music spots. She also performed with Bongo Bruno’s Funky Jazz Caravan at Lillie’s Times Square until she became a first-time mother. Embraced by the small-town charm of Buchanan, she founded BRC, a local running club and community volunteer non-profit organization. Stella later took on the role of Studio Assistant and Co-Instructor at Addie-tude Cultural Arts Center, where she collaborates on choreography, events, administration, digital content, and performs with their dance teams. In addition, she works in branding and creative content production for Filocco Haus, her lifelong passion project dedicated to her daughter. In 2024, she became a proud member of the Westchester Women’s Chorus.

Currently, Stella contributes her extensive experience to New Era Creative Space (NECS) as an Administrative Assistant and upcoming Dance Instructor. Her dedication to family, community, and the arts aligns with NECS’s mission to nurture creativity and positive change. Through her roles at NECS, Addie-tude, and her freelance work, Stella continues to share her passion for dance, music, and community building, creating lasting connections and making a significant impact in the creative arts.
