Media Futures
Pathways to Careers: Film & Media is a 9-month paid workforce development program that teaches film and media arts to empower youth voices, build workforce development skills, provide paid work experience, and help students get on a path to college and career success. Designed for youth ages 18-24, the program provides hands-on training where participants learn filmmaking, photography, and digital media production, creating media projects in teams and for community clients.
Participants will:
- Explore cutting-edge media production techniques
- Build artistic and technical skills to produce creative short films
- Collaborate on student-produced original media projects
- Gain industry exposure and mentorship from professionals
- Develop skills, attitudes, and competencies for college and career success
- Prepare intermediate-level portfolios for entry into programs like the Art Institute
Youth also earn industry-recognized certifications (Adobe Premiere) while producing original films and documentaries. Upon completion, alumni gain access to paid internships with top media organizations and the opportunity to work on real-world projects through NECS Productions.
