Out of an abundance of caution and in response to social distancing recommendations by the CDC and NYS Department of Health, we are postponing the start of our spring programs until further notice.
On January 24, ArtsWestchester presented NECS founder, Ridvan Foxhall, with a $1,000 Arts Alive Project Grant for her innovative Dance as Activism program.
This weekend, the Children’s Theater Company of Peekskill (CTC), a program of New Era Creative Space, presents the premier of Pegasus, a musical written and composed for them by award-winning playwright, Steven Hayet, and composer, Britt Bonney.

Sunday February 17, young men from our local MBK and Black Diamonds group were privileged to participate in a workshop on recognizing systemic racism with Actor/activist Russell Jones.
24 youth ranging from ages 9 – 17 put on a riveting show that reminded us of the magic of theatre and it’s ability to inspire and transform. CTC Peekskill presents Ugly Duckling and Show Way.
Youth leadership and empowerment program resumes this month for young girls aged 12 – 14 with the goal of assisting them to navigate through a crucial stage in their lives.
NECS is dedicated to providing the means for children and youth from low income families to attend camp. This summer, we invite you to sponsor a child for $250 to attend a week of camp.

NECS has been invited by the Peekskill School District to provide leadership and empowerment workshops for high school boys of color through the MBK initiative. We are looking forward this new collaboration.
