Creative Collage Techniques (Spring 2025!)

In this visual art workshop students will learn all about collage, an art technique where we use cut paper and found images to create new and exciting works of art. Students will find interesting images and words from magazines and cut shapes from colorful papers. They will create their own collage papers with techniques like making rubbings from textured surfaces, stamping and paper marbling. They will try out adding finishing touches to their collages using drawing materials. We will experiment with cutting, pasting, and layering images, text, shapes and colors. By the end of the class students will make several unique abstract and representational collage artworks.
