NECS partners with 100cameras to provide an 8-week photography workshop. This program is designed to inspire young people to “exercise their eye” with the camera.
AfroFusion Dance is a unique blend of traditional and modern day African derived movement. Students will learn popular Afrobeats moves and classic West African steps from dances like Kuku, Manjani, and Sunu.

Participants will learn to create music from scratch and develop their music-making skills. They'll engage in fun beat challenges and explore various genres to strengthen their abilities.
This youth-led program, focusing on healthy self-esteem and moral leadership, provides a safe space for young girls to learn about issues of concern to girls, explore inspiring literature, and creative expression through the arts.
In this acting workshop students will work together to create their own 10 minute one acts using dialogue prompts, improv, and their own imaginations.

In this ten-week session, students will plan and design still-life and portrait compositions.
Students will acquire real world technical skills collaborating on a film crew and will be able to continue to develop their craft to have an internship, or create their own stories and get them seen in the world.
Over nine sessions, students will get an overview of drawing and design in Procreate, the professional digital art software on the iPad.
Learn the basics of working in layers to make digital art. Sign up for one or two or all of these mini lessons to get a guided tour of the drawing software Procreate using a stylus on the iPad.
This summer program will have participants exploring and learning about their natural environment through farming, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming (swimming lessons included), and lots of fun.
NECS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates with limited resources, relying on support from the community to sustain our programming. Because we know there are families in need, we offer a sliding scale for program fees. While we don’t require supporting documents to demonstrate financial hardship, we do ask that families pay as much as they can afford. This is what enables us to offer our programs to families in more difficult financial situations.
NECS’ program fees help to cover the expenses of running the program and allow us to provide scholarships and sliding scale fees. We will not be able to offer honor-based sliding scale discounts to those in need if those who can afford the fee choose to pay a discounted amount. When registering for a program, please select the highest fee your family can afford.
